Today, Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) have announced public can place their orders for 2017 SEA Games commemorative coins via email to commorder@bnm.gov.my or via order forms available at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Museum and Art Gallery and the Bank’s offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuala Terengganu. In the event of oversubscription, balloting will take place.
Ordering via Email or at BNM offices
Based on public feedback and to provide a fair opportunity for the public to buy these limited edition coins, there will be a purchase limit (a set of 2, a silver coin and three Nordic Gold coins per person).
To improve buying convenience, the public can place their orders via email to commorder@bnm.gov.my or via order forms available at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Museum and Art Gallery and the Bank’s offices in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuala Terengganu.
Orders can be placed from 29 August 2017 until 5 September 2017 at 1.00pm.
Order Result Announcement
In the event of oversubscription, balloting will take place. Results will be announced on 8 September 2017 at www.bnm.gov.my and at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Museum and Art Gallery and the Bank’s offices nationwide.
Payment and Collection
Successful buyers can pay and collect their coins from 8 to 12 September 2017 at Bank Negara Malaysia’s Museum and Art Gallery (daily, including on weekends and public holidays) and at the Bank’s offices in Penang, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuala Terengganu (normal work days). Buyers have to present a valid identification in person for collection (e.g. MyKad/Passport).
On 16 August 2017, Bank Negara Malaysia issued commemorative coins in conjunction with the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games. The commemorative coins consist of a proof coloured silver coin, a Nordic Gold Brilliant Uncirculated coin and a set of two of these coins.
